Behind the scenes: Designing my content planner template
A look at how I built a Notion template that keeps content creation simple and fun.
I designed my content planner template after realizing I was spending more time planning than creating. I wanted something that felt like a creative playground, not a spreadsheet.
I started with a simple calendar view. Then I added a database for ideas, each with fields for format, status, and notes. The magic is in the linked database — you can see drafts, published pieces, and ideas all in one place.
The hardest part was making it flexible. Every creator works differently. So I kept the structure light: a few properties, clean colors, and room to adapt. It took three iterations before I was happy. Now it's my go-to.
